Fall Trends Guide
The Trend: Grey/Camel
Seen At: Rudsak fall winter collection, Chloe and Michael Kors
Gloomy days are definitely ahead, but we aren’t referring to the weather. This season, fall style is all about muted tones; anything grey or camel will do (especially a camel jacket). Transition into the season with a pair of charcoal tweed shorts or a grey dress and when the temperature drops even further, pick up a camel coat (in wool or leather) and a great pair of thick trousers.

Betty Draper’s stylish turn at the stables made us want to sign up for riding lessons — stat. For those who are a little horse-shy, try dipping your feet into this style with a pair of knee-high equestrian riding boots and work your way up to include cropped blazers, crisp white shirts and jodhpurs.
The Trend: Chunky Knits & Faux Fur
Seen At: Preloved & Vawk by Sunny Fong Forget frumpy Cosby-esque getups; this season’s nubby knits come in patchwork knitted dresses and fitted boyfriend-style sweaters, while the tufts of fur seen on everything from faux fur coats to vests and scarves have us itching to hit the slopes.
This season, say so long to shapeless cuts and menswear and welcome a curvy, feminine 1950 fashion silhouette back into your wardrobe. Whether donning a classic pencil skirt at the office, an A-line skirted dress that cinches at the waist (giving you that famous Marilyn Monroe figure), or a sophisticated belted trench, you’ll always look chic, no matter the occasion.
In the Print
The Trend: Prints
Seen at: Zoran Dobric, Jules Power Just because the temperature is dropping, doesn’t mean your wardrobe has to too. Breathe some life into your style with eye-catching prints this fall. Whether geometric or floral, colourful or black and white, printed dresses and printed tops are a sure-fire way to make an outfit pop. If you really want to standout, try mixing and matching. Like good company, when it comes to prints, the more the merrier.
1: Tucker printed silk crepe de Chine blouse, US $280. 2: French Connection teardrop jersey, $58. 3: Lily and Jae Silk secret skirt, $164. 4: Dace Albert dress, $298. 5: Diane Von Furstenburg Pialla dress, US $345.
An easy way to update your look for a new season is with fashionable fall accessories. We’re loving the look of chains (on everything from necklaces to purses) and mini-bags, which are taking a huge weight off our shoulders. To add something small but with big impact, pick up a circle scarf or something shearling. Swap out your coat for a cape to add a little more drama to your look.
