Gentlemen on the Road

“Can you lie next to her and give her your heart, your heart? As well as your body, and can you lie next to her and confess your love, your love?” sings Marcus Mumford in White Blank Page. Mumford is the lead singer of the popular folk-rock band Mumford and Sons, a band which has restored my love for writing and storytelling.

The British folk quartet consists of four young men – Marcus Mumford, “Country” Winston Marshall, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane – friends from West London who set out to make unapologetically catchy music in 2007.

Their lyrics are inspired by life, as each lyric is filled with passion, soul and raw emotion. This band has brought back the art of storytelling to the lime light. Along with their rich lyrics and undeniably unique sound, the band has also been recognized for their fashion sense.

Their dress is elegant and nostalgic, they are composed and carry themselves like true gentlemen. They’re wise beyond their years (Marcus Mumford is only 24 years-of-age).

As their music and lyrics serves as a source of inspiration for myself, their style can do the same for all the world’s men.
